TEAM BC ROSTERS
April
20, 2007 - For Immediate Release
Langley,
B.C. - The BC Inline Hockey Association is pleased to announce the
2007 TEAM BC High Performance Program.
Started
in 2006 with 5 Zone teams (14&under) participating in the 2006
BC Summer Games, the High Performance Program has now expanded to
include the 15&under and 18&under BC Provincial Teams.
The
High Performance Program is designed for elite players will give
them an opportunity to showcase their skills in a provincial/international
setting.
BCIHA
will use these programs to identify the top players in each age
group. In addition, these programs continue along the NIHA-Canada
High Performance Program leading to the men's Canadian National
Team that will compete in the IIHF World Championships beginning
in 2008.
Players
will have the opportunity to compete in a premier environment under
the guidance of BCIHA and its top coaches.
These
2 teams will represent our province at two elite events this season.
15&under
- Canada West Cup
BCIHA
will conduct a Provincial Team Tryout camp this spring that will
consist of practices and games during the process. 10 skaters and
2 goalies will be selected to represent BC at the Canada West Cup
this July in Sherwood Park, AB.
This
event showcases 3 ALBERTA Regional teams and Team MANITOBA that
have been selected at Regional tryouts in those provinces. 2007
is the 3rd time this bi-annual event has been offered.
This
will be Team BC's first entry into the competition and the next
step up the High Performance ladder in our province.

18&under
- USA Hockey Inline Junior Festival
BCIHA
will conduct a Provincial Team Tryout camp this spring that will
consist of practices and games during the process. 10 skaters and
2 goalies will be selected to represent BC at the USA Inline Junior
Festival this June in Colorado Springs, CO.
This
event showcases 4 TEAM USA Regional teams that have been selected
at Regional tryouts around the United States. In addition, Team
Alberta has competed at the last 4 events, coming away with a Bronze
Medal in 2005.
This
will be Team BC's first entry into the competition and the next
step up the High Performance ladder in our province.
