LANGLEY,
BC - The British Columbia Inline Hockey Association (BCIHA) is pleased
to announce the addition of the Abbotsford Youth Inline Hockey Association
(AYIHA) to its membership.
The
AYIHA is now in its fourth season and is committed to the growth
of inline hockey in Abbotsford. League emphasis is on the fun development
of hockey skills in a supportive environment that builds the lifeskills
of teamwork and activity in local youth.
After
a successful 2004 season with 3 age divisions, 2005 will see AYIHA
expand to 4 divisions of play:
- 6-10
years
- 10-12
years
- 12-14
years
- 14-17
years
"From
a co-ordinator's point of view, the ability to liaison with those
who have already gone through some of the growing pains plus the
options of general meetings in which mutual problems are discussed
is a great advantage," said AYIHA League Co-ordinator Francis
van der Loos.
"Inclusion
in the BCIHA legitimizes our league, plus it allows us to continue
to be strong and viable over the coming years, " continued
van der Loos. "Additionally, BCIHA development programs for
players, referees and coaches allow for a furthering of the standard.
I am excited about our inclusion and look forward to working with
other alliance members and building the sport of inline hockey."
BCIHA
is pleased to have the AYIHA join our Association and looks forward
to working with this group for continued growth and development
of this great game across the province. Working with dedicated people
throughout British Columbia is crucial to the expansion of the sport
to all corners of the province.
Registration
for the AYIHA is now open and early bird fees apply until March
15th. The League will commence play on April 16, 2005 and runs until
