BCIHA awards 2004 Scholarship to Mark Silvanovich (NSIHL)

This past July saw the BC Inline Hockey Association award the 2nd Annual BCIHA Scholarship to Mark Silvanovich of the North Shore Inline Hockey League.

Mark has proven to be an avid roller hockey player at both the House League and Rep Levels since 1999. He has been involved in this sport as a player and referee.

Beyond Mark's roller hockey commitments he has also shown to be an exceptional student-athlete with a GPA of 4.0 in both Grade 11 and Grade 12. In addition, Mark has routinely scored in the top 25% both National and International Math Contests.

The 2004 Scholarship Award is in the amount of $500.00 and will assist Mark in his post-secondary pursuits at the University of British Columbia. Mark's long-term goals include a Bachelor of Applied Sciences and a career in Automotive Engineering.

This is the second year in a row for the North Shore Inline Hockey League to be the home league of the BCIHA's Scholarship winner. 2003 saw Mark Russell win the inaugural award. Russell also attends the University of British Columbia.

The BCIHA Scholarship is to reward excellence in both scholastic and roller hockey pursuits. The successful applicant is a student-athlete who has balanced his/her high academic achievements with significant success as a roller hockey player and contributor to the community.

  3. No game misconduct penalties during current season.

The BCIHA would like to thank all applicants for the 2004 BCIHA Scholarship Award.
