The BC Inline Hockey Association is pleased to announce
the 2005 NIHA - Canada National Invitational Tournament will be
held in Langley, BC, from July 15-17, 2005.

At its past Annual General Meeting in Calgary in
July, the NIHA executive voted to award the 2005 National Tournament
to BC.
The host facility for the 2005 tournament will be
the Sportsplex which features two year-round roller hockey rinks.
Each rink features Ground Zero Roller Hockey flooring designed specifically
for the roller hockey game. In addition, the Sportsplex houses 2
NHL size ice rinks, a Pro Shop, Restaurant and Bar, Fitness Center,
Concession, and Physio Clinic. For a complete look at the facility

The BCIHA is excited about the opportunity to host
this event that brings many of the top youth inline hockey teams
from across Canada to compete for the National title.
Last year's event in Calgary was a big success as
teams from Alberta and Manitoba welcomed BC teams for the first
time. The inaugural event in 2002 was held in Chestermere, AB while
the second annual tournament was held in Winnipeg in 2003.
The 2005 tournament will host teams in the following
ages:
- 10&under
- 12&under
- 14&under
- 16&under
- 18&under
Teams compete in their Provincial Championship tournaments
each season to earn their right to compete in the National Invitational.
The top 2 teams of each division in each province qualify for the
National tournament. In addition, the host League also receives
a seed to compete.
The BCIHA provincial champions are determined at
the Pacific Coast International Tournament each season. The 2005
PCI tournament will be held July 1-3, 2005, location TBA.
Future locations for the NIHA - Canada National
Invitational will be held in Manitoba in 2006 and Alberta in 2007.
Additional information on the 2005 NIHA-Canada National
Invitational will be available soon.
The BCIHA
looks forward to seeing everyone in Langley next July!
